So after a what seems like forever, the new FKJ EP "Take Off" is finally out! After much hype and exitement I was starting to get worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, despite having loved the small bits and pieces I had managed to catch with my ears.
In this EP, FKJ has evolved his sound from a more sample based production to a more refined and sophisticated original creative proccess. Three out of the four tracks feature a guest singer; all of whom deliver an amazing result. There is still the clear funk guitar sound present in most of the songs though, resulting in an amazing combination of funk and class.
Si vous lisez ceci, FKJ il est temps pour l'album!
I had a hard time picking which track to feature in particular, because they all end up being so soulful and deep. Ultimately though, I settled for the lead track released on the eve of the EP dropping. I know this will get less views, as it has already been well covered, but hey. I promised the best music, and that's what I will deliver!
We start off with a great vocal sampling job and a simple findger snap chorus, then the funk comes in on the beat, and we get some warping guitars and other goodness. The vocals dlivered by Madelyn Grant really feel custom fitted to the song, like a master tailor FKJ produced a marvel of design, comfort and groove.
Here is to my summer anthem, I hope you guys groove to this as much as myself!
